FAQs

What should I do to prepare for our first appointment?

To make the best use of our time together, please complete the paperwork for new clients ahead of time, and put together a list of any questions you have, so that we make sure to address them during our session.

What happens at our first appointment?

Our first appointment will be an opportunity to meet each other and gather information. Our session will take 50 minutes. We will finish by discussing what our next step pursuing counseling.

What’s unique about your practice?

My practice is warm, safe, secure and professional. I am compassionate, warm, and approachable. We will take time to assess and understand your immediate need. You will be encouraged to work through specific areas that impact your daily life that may not relate directly to a life changing event(s) that is affecting you now.

What happens at future appointments?

After the first appointment, we will both have a better understanding what direction needs to be taken. We can begin to have more focused conversations concentrating on areas that are of importance to you. Clients will be encouraged to learn about a specific area(s) that may refine their unique self and in turn refine their life.

How often will I need to see you?

The answer is different for every client or couple; therefore we will assess progress accordingly. To best meet your needs, we will meet once a week, every other week, or once a month. We may need to meet for a few months, a full year, or longer, depending upon your needs. I recommend coming back for a few sessions to discuss any changes or progress made, in turn help you make minor adjustments for a more refined life.

How much are sessions?

Fee for counseling is $95 – $110 / 50 minute session for individual therapy. I encourage you to have your checks written out before our session begins so that we can get the most out of our time together. A late cancellation fee of $50.00 is charged for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.  A fee of $95.00 is charged for a No-Show.

Do you accept insurance?

I am not on insurance panels, Medicaid or Medicare. I am an out-of-network provider and do not directly bill insurance for treatment. While I do not accept insurance directly, it may be possible for you to receive reimbursement from your insurance company depending on your out-of-network benefits. I recommend calling your insurance to find out what reimbursement will look like for an out-of-network provider. If you were hoping to use insurance to pay for your sessions, I suggest reaching out to your insurance company to ask for a list of local in-network providers. This will help to narrow your search significantly.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

All sessions are currently being conducted through telehealth (video/phone).  For video sessions, I use a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
